Former Sheriff Candidate, Verne Dickerson, Endorses Scott York for Chairman

Our goal as Loudoun Republicans is to move forward to November and place Republicans in all nine of the seats on the Board of Supervisors. It is imperative that we have a candidate for Chairman who can effectively lead us to that victory and maintain continuity of leadership during this critical time for Loudoun County. That is why I am proud to endorse Scott York for the Republican nomination for Chairman of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.

Scott York is a pro-life, pro-family fiscal conservative, and man of principle and integrity. He will promote a business friendly climate in Loudoun to facilitate the expansion of our commercial tax base. Scott’s record truly speaks to his ability to solve our transportation issues, both now and in the years to come. Finally, it is important to have a Leader on the Board that will support the men and women who are our first responders, working every day to protect us!

Politics is not personal, and while I and many others consider Chairman candidate Steve Stockman a friend, and a good man, Scott York is the right leader the Republican ticket needs to triumph in November. I encourage all my supporters and delegates to vote for Scott at the Republican Convention on July 23rd.

REID, YORK PLEDGE ENDORSEMENT OF EACH OTHER’S CANDIDACIES TO BRING JOBS AND PROSPERITY TO LOUDOUN COUNTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 21, 2011

LEESBURG, VA — Scott York, chairman of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, and Ken Reid, a member of the Leesburg Town Council, today announced the endorsements of each other’s candidacies for the Board of Supervisors in the election to be held on November 8.

York is seeking the Republican nomination for a fourth term as Chairman, while Reid is seeking the Republican nomination as Leesburg District Supervisor. Both will be decided at the Republican County Convention on July 23 at Tuscarora High School.

“Chairman York has worked hard to bring more jobs and business tax revenue to Loudoun County,” Reid said. “He has supported conservative fiscal management and greater oversight on how the School Board spends our money, and has opposed bad regulations like the Chesapeake Bay Protection Ordinance,” he continued. “Most recently, Scott York has blown the whistle on the exorbitant costs of the Dulles Rail project and how this will impact folks who use the Dulles Toll Road.”

“But Chairman York has been repeatedly opposed by the current Democrat majority, and he needs a new Board to really make a consistent difference for County residents,” Reid added. “That new Board needs to be a fiscally responsible and solutions-oriented Republican Board, and I and other Republican candidates stand ready to work with Scott York to bring needed change to Loudoun County. I also wholeheartedly endorse Scott York’s candidacy for the Republican nomination as chairman.”

Reid also said he is urging the delegates he has signed up to vote for York for the nomination for Chairman. Reid also has been endorsed by Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, and former Leesburg District Supervisors Joan Rokus and Jim Clem, among others.

In endorsing Reid, York said: “Ken Reid has been an active supporter of Loudoun County, even before his election to the Leesburg Town Council in 2006. Under Ken’s leadership on Council, Leesburg’s tax rates have been held down while local jobs and business tax revenue have grown. Ken also has been at the forefront of calling for new road capacity and public transit alternatives, and helped me secure 100% state funding for the Sycolin Road overpass. Ken is my choice for Leesburg District Supervisor.”

Reid will hold his next fundraiser on July 7 at the Exeter Clubhouse in Leesburg. York is the featured speaker. Admission is $75 per person, but sponsorships are available at $250 and $500. For details, visit www.KenReid.org

STATON ENDORSES SCOTT YORK FOR LOUDOUN COUNTY BOARD CHAIRMAN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 17, 2011

Today in Ashburn, former Supervisor Mick Staton announced his endorsement of Scott York for the Republican nomination for Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors.  Staton represented the Sugarland Run District on the Board from 2004-2007.

“Loudoun County, like Virginia, is facing serious economic hardships, and we need strong, experienced leadership to help us weather this storm,” Staton said.  “Scott’s leadership on the Board fighting against higher residential property taxes and government overspending, and to stop onerous legislation like the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance has been vital. Working with Governor Bob McDonnell, Scotthas secured tens of millions of dollars in state money for important transportation improvements along Route 7.”

York served four years as Sterling District Planning Commissioner and four years as Sterling District Supervisor, followed by the past 12 years as Chairman of the Board.  In 2003 York left the Republican Party to run as an Independent, but filed to run for the Republican nomination for Chairman and has vowed to stay in the Party and support all Republican candidates.

The Loudoun County Republican Convention will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at Tuscarora High School, where local Republicans will nominate their candidates for Sheriff, Treasurer, Commonwealth’sAttorney, Commissioner of the Revenue, and all nine seats on the Board of Supervisors.

“I am impressed with Scott’s decision to return to the Republican Party, and his ongoing commitment to the pro-family, conservative values that we share,” Staton continued.  “It’s time to put aside the disagreements of the past and unite our Party.  This year we have the opportunity to return the Board of Supervisors to Republican control and move Loudoun County toward a brighter future. Scott York is the best candidate to lead the way, and I urge all Republicans to support him at the upcoming Convention.”

York Endorses Dick Black For Republican Senate Nomination

Leesburg, VA | June 13, 2011—Loudoun County Board Chairman Scott York today announced his endorsement of Dick Black as the Republican nominee for the 13th District seat in the Virginia Senate.

“Dick Black is the most qualified, experienced and electable candidate in this race, and he has my full support,” said York, who is seeking the Republican nomination to serve his fourth term as Chairman. Two other candidates are seeking the Republican nomination for the Senate seat, but Black is the only one from Loudoun County.

Black represented Loudoun in the Virginia House of Delegates for eight years, and his first election returned the House to Republican hands for the first time in over 100 years. “Our support for Dick Black is more urgent this year than ever,” said York. “Dick’s election in November will give Republicans the unprecedented opportunity to secure a majority in both the Senate and House. That means Governor McDonnell’s pro-jobs agenda will be more successful here in Loudoun County and throughout Virginia, as will our ability to build the roads we need and to protect our citizens from violent crime.”

“Dick is a man of strong conviction and principle,” said York. “We share a deep commitment to pro-life values, to protecting our Second Amendment rights, to educational choice, and to fighting for lower taxes for families and businesses.” York says he is focused on signing up delegates for the Republican County Convention on July 23rd at Tuscarora High School, but will also be campaigning actively with Black. The Republican nomination for the 13th District Senate seat will be determined in a primary election on August 23rd.
